So, we had a bunch of San Pedro cuttings in boxes for several months and I just took them out today for potting.
I didn’t know what cactus roots looked like, so I thought that mushrooms had started growing on them since Florida is so humid, but they are, in fact, roots!

Thanks for the tips! I'm in California, its very dry heat here, but hot! Cold in the winter where I am.I keep reading that Calea Z. is difficult to grow, especially from seed. But your words are encouraging! In the greenhouse where I have them now, its pretty hot and even a bit humid, so perhaps it will germ well. Good to know that they are okay in shade too! I'll definitely let you know how they grow! (I dont know if they're bitter or not). Thanks again! :)

Hello! I just planted some Calea Zacatechichi (yesterday!), and in search of some guidance. I found your blog, and saw that you have some experience growing it... I'm starting from seed and currently have them in a greenhouse. Do you have any tips? We had some Ephedra sinica at the old house, but we kind of forgot about it and it looks rather dead now.
I rescued it anyways, so now it’s back at home and hopefully will be alive again soon.
I have hopes since the Syrian Rue looked very much like this [completely dead] over the winter, then came back to life when it began to warm up a bit.

[4] The Coleus released seeds when I still had them in pots, so those keep popping up in my other plants’ pots ((There’s the bigger green and red one, then a little tiny pink/red one near the bottom edge of the pot))..
